F1: Punters Change Their Focus And Follow Ferrari

There has been a massive shift in focus in the build up to this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix with 80% of bets taken by William Hill for the Ferrari boys with Alonso attracting almost 75% of all bets placed. Alonso is the 2/1 joint favourite with Sebastian Vettel to win in Budapest. Sebastian Vettel tendency to hit the self destruct button means that he is friendless, attracting less than 5%. Despite Paddy Lowe’s admission that McLaren will struggle to keep up with the Red Bulls and Ferraris Lewis Hamilton at 6/1 and Jenson Button at 12/1 have still attracted almost 15% of all bets placed.

“At the start of the season, Red Bull were attracting the majority of the cash, then the McLarens came to the fore and now punters are putting their faith in Ferrari,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
